kayak #2

live blogging from the middle of a lake in the south west of Tasmania without my phone; without batteries or time or weather forecasts. sitting in a yellow canoe in the middle of the lake. there’s a wonky castellation of unclimbed pinnacles tracing the circular horizon like a hard craggy dinosaur shell, and I’m in the sunny yolk. bouncing through orange tannin water, breaking the blue slick surface with my paddle, pulling aground on quartz beaches shaded by leaning ti-trees. how on earth can a landscape so scratchy and dry up close turn into an indigo cloud of hills and mountains in the distance?┬áthere are five people on the lake, and enough distance for me to sneakily recharge the I in the INFJ.
